THIS IS ME...
introducing VULCAN CAGE

For years I've been making electronic house and techno music - it's a true passion and pleasure. I always try to stay open during the creative process to allow my music to develop and unfold in whatever form naturally occurs. Minimal techno and future tech house just seems to happen intuitively and the thrill is producing music with good vibes, intelligent tricks, twists and melodies. That's the pay-off!
Back when I was just a young kid, I got into music by listening to records and studying them. I taught myself a few instruments which subsequently got me into a few 'stoner' guitar bands - it was all fun and a great learning curve. I learned so much from so many interesting people.
Time moves on!
As I progressed as a musician, my tastes really started to diversify. I listened to a vast range of music from classical to pop, to hardcore, to electronica - always soaking up the best elements, whether that was songwriting, the melody & hooks, or the production techniques. I was set on a life-long path of music education - one which still lives on to this day. You never stop ever learning! Growing up in Sheffield was great because it was home to the legendary nightclub Gatecrasher (Trance and Techno), plus there was Headcharge (Techno), Inzomiacz (Hard House) and The Unit (USA House). The worlds best DJ's graced the decks every weekend right in our front room! There were (and still are) lots of underground club nights, too. It's impossible not to be inspired by these great DJ's and producers. Guru's like Ben Klock, Stephan Bodzin, Oliver Huntemann, Boris Brejcha, Pan-Pot and Solomun all get regular plays on my stereo!
Naturally after a decade of being obsessed with electronic music I got into DJing & spent my time playing sets in bars & clubs in the UK and abroad using vinyl records and Technics turntables. When digital came along I really embraced it - sure, I'm a big vinyl & analog fan, but I also love modern technology. The advances of digital have enabled my own personal brand of 'future tech' to develop and given me to tools to explore & create new textures. Now I am finally able to create the music that has been caged in my head. This, I bring to share with you.
